What is a Key Driver?
In the People Element Platform, we’ve identified your specific drivers of engagement based on your survey results by incorporating what is known as key driver analysis. Key driver analysis makes it easier for you to know what to focus on in your engagement survey results. The analysis identifies the questions that have the most impact on engagement. In short, if you can focus your actions on the key drivers, you are more likely to improve your engagement score.
Our analysis uses your company's survey data to measure the relationship between a participants engagement score and their responses to all other single select survey questions. This correlational analysis identifies the questions that have the most impact on the engagement level of your workforce and marks them as your key drivers.
How Can I Find My Key Drivers?
Your top engagement key driver questions are identified with a blue key icon.

The key drivers will automatically generate in reports for engagement surveys. Your dashboard will identify the top 5 drivers of engagement while the summary and hotspots widgets allow for additional drill down views of all your key driver questions. If there is no available data for key drivers to populate, our areas of action will display in place of the top drivers of engagement in your dashboard. Click view all to see all key drivers that have an impact on engagement, with the highest correlated items listed first.

To view items by key drivers in the summary and hotspots widgets, click on the view by dropdown option and select key drivers. These are ordered based on overall impact to engagement, with the highest correlated items listed first.

Key drivers are only available to view for engagement surveys and a single survey at a time, not in aggregate. Additionally, the key drivers can be viewed by users with full access to the survey data. Users with data restricted access will not see these key drivers.
