Unassign Participant From a Survey

Participants should only be manually unassigned from a survey if they were incorrectly assigned. This can be done manually one at a time or in bulk, and automatically via trigger events.

Trigger Events Unassigning
Trigger events will automatically unassign a participant from the survey if they fall out of the trigger event criteria. When someone is unassigned based on a trigger event, they'll continue to be included in the surveys invited number in reporting. To learn more about setting up trigger events, review this article.

Manually Unassigning in Bulk

To manually bulk unassign participants from a survey, go to manage participants in the PEOPLE tab. Click the three vertical dots (more options) in the upper right corner of the screen and select unassign survey from the dropdown menu. Select your survey name from the dropdown menu and hit export. Your Excel export will include all people currently assigned to your survey.
Delete those you want to keep assigned so you only have those you're unassigning remaining in the file. Do not delete any columns or worksheets from the excel workbook. Save and import into the platform in the same place where you exported from.
You cannot undo this action so be sure the participants left in your file are only those that need to be unassigned from your survey. If they haven't yet responded to the survey, they'll be unassigned, their survey link will become inactive, and they'll be removed from the invited number in reporting. If they've already responded to the survey, their data will not be removed from the reports or the invited number.

Manually Unassigning by Participant

To manually unassign an individual participant from a survey, go to manage participants in the PEOPLE tab. Sort the participants table to find the participant you want to unassign from a survey. Click on their employee ID to open their profile.

Scroll down to the assigned survey section and find the survey you want to unassign them from. Click on the "X" next to the survey you want to unassign.

You will see two pop-ups asking if you want to continue with the action of unassigning the participant from the survey. This action cannot be undone. If they haven't yet responded to the survey, they'll be unassigned, their survey link will become inactive, and they'll be removed from the invited number in reporting. If they've already responded to the survey, their data will not be removed from the reports or the invited number.
