The People Element Platform offers you the ability to run surveys in many ways, one of those being confidential. If you choose to run a confidential survey, it is important to know the definition of confidential and what it means for your survey responses. We have provided answers to common questions you may receive regarding your confidential survey.
Who is People Element?
People Element is a third-party platform used to distribute surveys. Surveys are created in, sent from, and data housed in the People Element Platform.
What is a confidential survey?
Confidential surveys report data in aggregate, meaning responses are connected to demographics at the group level and not at an individual level. Your name is not associated with your responses in reporting.
The organization keeps your information private, although some users may have access to data that identifies responses (raw data).
How are responses kept confidential?
Responses are kept confidential by reporting on aggregated data. Before data can be viewed, the response count must be at or greater than the survey’s minimum data threshold. Any responses to the open-ended comments are shared verbatim.
If it’s confidential, why are names included in the survey invitation?
Participant names are included in survey invitations to personalize your message and so they can be assured that they’ve received the right survey link. Names and emails are generated automatically based on the employee records in the People Element Platform but are not connected to responses in reporting. Management does not have access to survey invitations and links.
If it’s confidential, how are survey reminders sent?
The People Element Platform tracks each individual's survey status to know if they should be reminded about unanswered questions. Survey notifications sent from the People Element Platform are not visible to anyone outside of People Element.
Will Management see the responses?
The feedback provided is confidential. Management will only see aggregated data once it has met the minimum data threshold so that participants cannot be identified.
How the Survey Process Works
Survey invitations are sent from the People Element Platform to each survey participant. Included in the invitations are survey links unique to each participant. Responses collected from each survey are sent back to the People Element Platform and combined to display in reporting.

How Data is Aggregated
Data is viewable in aggregate, with no names or identifiable information shown in reporting.

Data is not viewable if the minimum survey threshold for responses has not been met.
