The People Element platform gives you the flexibility to require questions be answered before moving on to the next category.
We have found that most people don't skip survey questions and requiring responses to every question can negatively impact your participation. However, required questions can be helpful if a question is tied to a critical demographic or when self-selecting demographic questions are in an anonymous survey.
Requiring a question to be responded to means that the question must have an answer for the survey participant to be able to move on to the next survey category. If your survey only has one category, participants can still respond to all non-required questions and those responses will be saved to reporting.
Mark a Question Required
This feature forces survey participants to enter a response before moving to the next category. A message will appear if a question is skipped, prompting the participant to answer that question before continuing. You have the option of requiring individual questions throughout the survey or requiring all questions within a category.
Require Individual Questions
Select the wheel icon next to the question you want to make required. At the bottom of the screen, check the box for require this question. Click OK to save your edits and continue editing your survey.

Require All Questions within a Category
Check the box for require all questions for each category that you want all questions required.
Once all survey edits are made, click save and continue to save your changes.
