A critical component of measuring employee retention and engagement is assessing people’s intention to stay with the company.
Our platform simplifies the process of measuring and reporting this data by automatically converting survey responses to a retention index.
Measuring Intention to Stay
Part of our survey library, and included in some survey templates, the question "I plan to be here at least 1 year from now" is used to measure intention to stay. When you use this question in your survey, responses are automatically mapped to a retention index called intention to stay. This index is available as a demographic to use in your report filters to help uncover factors that impact people’s intention to stay. This demographic is available in the REPORTS tab once data is collected.
The intention to stay index is based on survey responses to the above library question using our standard 1-5 Likert agreement scale. To maintain integrity of the index, this question cannot be edited. If you choose to add your own custom question, this index will not be automatically available for reporting.
Survey responses are mapped to four retention groups:
Index Coding | Responses Given |
Likely to Leave | Strongly Disagree (1) and Disagree (2) |
Unsure | Somewhat Agree/Disagree (3) |
Likely to Stay | Agree (4) |
Highly Likely to Stay | Strongly Agree (5) |
